- Accomodations
Camp Timber Trails has six (6) cabin clusters: Windy Pines, Birch Valley, Bending Trees, Water Crest, Rocky Point and Rocky Knoll. Within each cabin cluster are several individual cabins. Each cabin is a designated campsite. In order to adhere to social distancing requirements camper are allowed to use only the cabin campsite they have been assigned. In addition, each cabin campsite will have a correspondingly assigned sink and toilet facility at the cabin cluster wash house. These wash house facilities are designated solely for that cabin campsites use. Electricity is available at each wash house. Tent camping is allowed within each of the cabin campsites provided a minimum of 20 feet is maintained between cabin campsites and the campsite occupancy does not exceed 10 people. Cabins accomodate up to 6 people; you may add 4 more in a tent with a $30 fee
There are also a couple larger buildings which are occasionally rented.
The Lodge has 4 small bedrooms, two baths rooms with showers, a small commercial kitchen, and a large great room suitable for group activities ( no more than 10 people due to COVID restrictions!
The Directors Cabin and the Staff Cabin each have two bedrooms, a bath with shower, and a small kitchen-dining area.
The Little Cabin is our newest and smallest rental, fresh from renovation. It has 1.5 bedrooms, a kitchen and a bath, and is ideal for individual retreats or up to 3 people.
All of of these buildings except the Staff Cabin are four-season ready - Rental Terms
Due to Covid, our rentals are restricted.
The restrictions are meant to protect both cabin renters and Camp Timber Trails. For example, the Town of Tolland restricts groups to 10 or less people, and Camp Timber Trails asks that everyone coming should be in a COVID pod together to reduce the risks of exposure. Also, due to COVID, Camp Timber Trails has not opened its waterfront in order to minimize operating costs during this difficult time.
You will need to sign a waiver form prior to occupying your cabin when you check in. You can do this on paper when you arrive and check in, but it is easier to fill out the PDF form waiver, save it, and then email it back to us at bookkeeper@camptimbertrails.org to simplify your checkin.
On the form, you will list each adult along with their email and phone number, and any minors with you, as well as signatures for the renter and any parents or guardians in your party.
- Booking Availability
Camp Timber Trails will generally make rooms available about one month in advance of rental dates, because our primary business is renting to large groups that use the entire 400 acre facility. If you would like to arrange a rental further in advance, please email to enquire .
Rental terms are two nights minimum and six nights maximum stay. Browse the booking availabilty to learn more about the camper cabins and larger buildings

- Map and getting here
Camp Timber Trails ( map link ) is located at 1266 East Otis Road in Tolland MA.
There are a few different dirt roads to get you the last couple miles in to our camp in the middle of the Tolland State Forest. The road from the south (turn north off Rt 57, 2.4 miles) is often the only road open during the winter, and 4 wheel drive is recommended in the winter or please check the weather forecast in advance. If coming from the north, Belden Road is often better suited than E. Otis Road for passenger cars with low ground clearance due to rocks on the portion of E. Otis Road near the Otis Reservoir.
